[English | 简体] Joint Survey on Site Boundary
The complexity and accuracy of survey method(s) employed in setting out of site all depend on the site conditions and type of works under construction , say a great difference between tunnel work and roadwork . It is always advised to make full use of local existing topographical maps and marine charts though sometimes it may need to carry out aerial or hydrographic surveys to enable accurate plans for precise records . Before commencement of Work , a joint survey on the site boundary must be conducted to confirm the allowable works areas , may be stage by stage , as provided under the conditions of contract . More setting out issues will be discussed in Chapter 6 – Site Activities .
[ Construction DB Tips : All joint survey records must be countersigned by both Surveyors and preferably endorsed by both site representatives with date . The original of records should be kept by commercial / QS staff for future measurement purpose . ]
