After the award of contract and before set up of site office , a primary project office has to be set up to start running the Contract . Sometimes it locates at the head office or rent a flat nearby the work site . At this stage , the key personnel shall be stationed in the project office to keep the day-to-day communications with the concerned parties as well as recruitment of supporting staff , application of statutory permits , invitation of sub-contractors , etc . In most cases , although after set up the office on site , the project office is still retained for “ correspondence address ” purpose since the site land lot may not be applicable for delivery .

[ Construction DB Tips : One of the main purpose of retaining the project office is to provide long term work place for the commercial / QS staff as well as to keep the “fire copy” ( note : not file copy ) of documents in safe custody for future final measurement and account on and on during or after the defect liability period .]
