Water Repellants

Water repellents are coatings applied to concrete and masonry materials intending to keep liquid water from penetrating the surface but still allowing the water vapor to pass through. They are formulated to be vapor permeable. Water repellents are water-based and formulated from modified siloxanes, silanes and other alkoxysilanes or metallic stearates. They are generally transparent or clear in color and non-film forming unlike waterproof coatings which create a sheen on the surface of the concrete or masonry.
